40 bbPress Themes for Download

Came across this clean bbPress theme the other day called Beer Bongs …heh. For those of you unaware, bbPress is simple forum software by the makers of Wordpress. bbPress is perfect for integrating registered Wordpress blog users over to forum users with the same username and password. It alos lead me to the most excellent stash of bbPress themes I’ve come across.

Switching between Wordpress Visual and HTML editor not working

Heh. I just got done posting a quick shout to Jean-Baptiste for his excellent Sliding Doors + Wordpress technique when I realized it had happened again: The Visual and HTML tabs on the Wordpress text editor were broken again. I don’t know of any permanent fixes, but if this happens to you here’s how you can fix the issue temporarily:

Log into your Wordpress admin
Go to Design > Themes
Switch / activate any other theme than your current one (I just use the Default)
Go to Write > Post (as if you are about to write a new post)
You should see the GUI for the editor restored and be able to switch between Visual and HTML modes once more
Go back to Design > Themes and reactivate your desired theme

If that doesn’t work … I have NFI.

Inserting SPAN into Wordpress categories using wp_list_categories

I just got done experimenting with some options for the main menu here at Elite Freelancing. Given I don’t code PHP — I’m more of a cut ‘n’ paste kinda guy when it comes to PHP – I had to do some digging around to find what I needed. Specifically, I needed a way to add tags into wp_list_categories so that Wordpress.

What I initially was going after was a main menu that utilizes the ever popular Sliding Doors technique. In the end I opted for something simpler due to the way it looks. However, since I finally found a great article on how to incorporate tags into wp_list_categories, I wanted to give it a mention here for others to find.

The article is by Jean-Baptiste Jung called CSS Techniques: Using Sliding Doors with Wordpress Navigation.
